On July 5th, we gather not only to honour Malawi’s independence, but to celebrate the unity, diversity, and international connections that define our lives as Malawians in the diaspora.

 

This year’s 61st Independence Day Celebration is organized by Umodzi Wa a Malawi Diaspora Association under the inspiring theme:
“Living Together in Diversity – A Celebration of Cultures.”

 

We warmly invite Malawians and friends of Malawi from all backgrounds to come together and experience the richness of Malawian heritage — through food, music, storytelling, and shared joy.
