Strengthening Diaspora Engagements—A leadership visit to Malawi Embassy.
Berlin, Germany—In the spirit of mutual collaboration, the leadership of UMODZI, a diaspora organisation registered in Germany, presented its work and ambitions to the Malawi Embassy in Berlin. The meeting was hosted by His Excellency J. Mpinganjira, the Ambassador of the Republic of Malawi to Germany and the embassy staff delegation. It was a platform to strengthen Malawi diaspora ties, address key concerns, and explore opportunities for collaboration between Malawi and its citizens residing in Germany.

The discussions focused on key areas such as establishing partnerships for development opportunities in Malawi, consular services and potential collaboration between the diaspora and the Embassy.
The chairman of UMODZI, Mr Semba expressed appreciation for the embassy’s efforts in engaging the diaspora, noting that such interactions strengthen the bond between Malawians abroad and their homeland. He reiterated the diaspora community’s willingness to contribute to Malawi’s development through various initiatives such as skills transfer.
